It was around 1967 that our shopping mall was built. First of all, a two-story building was erected on the premises where there was once a factory. Tenants worked on the ground floor, while the second floor was used as the living space. By and by, new stores whose owners had been doing business along the Loop No. 8 expressway gathered around the first building, Other proprietors started their operation on the tract of land where there were previously houses for government employees.
It was not long before some storekeepers took the initiative in organizing their association. Other burgeoning retailers who had been running their stores in the neighborhood hurriedly followed in the footsteps of their model counterparts in the Kojiya shopping mall.
